Rachel's Wish List

1. Black Milk Leggings
This brand is incredible, I discovered them through Look Book and I am pretty much in love with everything on their website (just not their prices!). I would absolutely love a pair of the Skeleton leggings, I think they're smokin'. Definitely going to be my first buy once I acquire my student loan...or a rich sugardaddy (just kiddin)

2. A Red Indian Headdress.
I'm not sure why exactly, but I want one. I'd quite like to run around London in one, saying "How" to everybody, carving totem poles and be called Crooked Bear or Running River or something.

3. Plain, Black Wedges
A staple shoe that everyone needs in their wardrobe and something I've never got around to buying.

4. A 4-bed flat in Shoreditch, London
We're on the flathunt at the moment for somewhere beginning of September but it's been difficult and stressful! Hoping a nice place will just fall into our lap sometime soon.

5. Summore Denim Shorts
Preferably in burgundy. I pretty much live in my rolled up levis and need another pair. Mine have mud stains on them but I can't bring myself to put them in the wash.

6. Some DMs
My little biker boots from Office just don't cut it anymore. I want some Dms or Army Surplus boots, anything big, bulky and a little scary looking.

7. An Oversized, Old man Jumper or Cardigan
Anything massive with a horrific print on it.

8. A Lorry load of old T-shirts
I want lots of charity shop t-shirts to cut up and play with and wear as dresses. In particular a Star Wars tee, I've wanted one for ages.

9. Some Old Jewellery
Can't wait to be back in London so I can visit the old favourite Portobello Road and seek out some little treasures.

10. A new piercing
Not sayin' where though ;)

Hair today, Gone tomorrow.

My hair has finally grown!
After about a year of having that horrible, awkward hair that you only get when you're growing a haircut out and want lovely, long, locks, my hair is at a respectable length. I also bleached the ends a couple of months ago for the ever popular dip-dyed look which I was quite happy with, seeing as I've never dyed my hair before. I am aiming to continue growing my hair like Rapunzel, although a small part of me would love to chop it off into a shaggy, shoulder length bob. Why do you always want long hair when you have short hair, and short hair once you've grown it? I doubt I'll ever be satisfied, but I won't be chopping mine off anytime soon, it took far too long to grow!

A Summer Project

Photos from my final summer project for First Year.

It was a group project based on Boxing and Norman Hartnell, the Royal Couturier. Absolutely loved this project, I have always been a sucker for old school glamour and our allocated designer gave us the chance to design some really beautiful, long gowns. The boxing element also gave me the chance to use leather and padding, which as someone with a slight leather fetish, was perfect!

I really loved our final shoot for the collection. Another aspect of our project was a scruffy, pub aesthetic so we managed to shoot our looks in a cute, little pub called The Castle in Whitechapel. I recommend the pub, for the music alone, I have never had such a brilliant soundtrack to a shoot.

Ciao funny faces,

Flying the First Year Nest

Some of my work from my first project at LCF.

It really has been an incredible year for me, and hopefully the first of many. I have wanted to live in London and study Fashion for as long as I can remember and I still have to pinch myself sometimes when I realise that I'm doing it.

I have laughed and cried, launched wars against Nazi Housemates over rice krispies, gone without sleep for over 50 hours before a deadline, ran around the London Underground painted like a tiger, protested with 50,000 students, celebrated with thousands in Hyde Park for the Royal Wedding and had a bloody good time doing all of it.

Here's to an even better year come September!
